Okay so it's been forever since I decided to start blogging again but I'm quite proud of myself for making it all the way to my second blog post, 5 gold stars for me. Okay but seriously, I am determined to get better at this!
So anyway I thought today I would kickstart my new blog with a review of a product I've been using for quite a while now. Im sure if you're a keen reader of beauty blogs or Youtube beauty videos you will of at some point come across somebody mentioning the 'Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser'. For me I remember hearing Youtuber's such as Zoella (Zoe) and Sprinkleofglitter (Louise) talking about it all the time and from that point on wanting to get my hands on it. However as a jobless 19 year old student I knew that it perhaps wasn't quite in my budget, I know cue the tiny violins.
So for my 19th birthday my friends knew I had been wanting to try a hot cloth cleanser for a while so decided, very kindly, to buy me one as part of my birthday present. The cleanser they bought me was the 'No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser'. I was super excited to try it and see if these kind of products lived up to their hype.
So heres what I thought!
Packaging - 4/5
I actually really like the packaging of this product! I like how the product looks expensive yet is still simple and clear. A big bonus for me is that you can clearly see how much product is left through the clear plastic container meaning you can purchase a new one before you completely run out.
Smell - 3/5
The smell is nice, very clean smelling however to me it smells just a little too 'soapy' if that makes any sense? It's perfectly nice smelling just nothing special.
The Cloth - 2/5
To me this is what lets the product down the most. The cloth is quite rough to touch and is very thin and almost cheap feeling. If you where to purchase this product I would definitely recommend perhaps investing in another muslin cloth.
Results On My Skin - 4.5/5
The cleanser definitely has a very soothing effect on the skin. If, like me, you face the occasional break out now and again (ugh!) then I would definitely recommend giving this a go. It really seemed to calm my skin and make the soreness of the blemishes a bit more bearable. The cleanser is very thick in texture and almost feels like a face mask on application. My skin feels very soft and moisturised after use which also made applying makeup so much nicer, or used on a night, made my skin feel nice and clean for bed.
Price - 3.5/5
Priced at £9.95 for a 200ml bottle (including the muslin cloth) I don't think this product is overpriced however I think for that price you could maybe expect a nicer quality muslin cloth than the one given.
Would I Repurchase?
Yes! And I have!! This is actually another bottle I bought after the first one ran out. I think its a good quality product and you definitely get what you pay for!
Overall I have been happy with the product however there are definitely some downsides. I think through past purchases of skincare products I have really found that you get what you pay for and sometimes its better to spend just a little bit more on something that really does make a huge difference to your skin. Don't get me wrong this isn't the case with everything, there are some great cheap and cheerful products on the shelves that really do rival the top brands but to me skincare isn't something I want to scrimp on anymore as it makes such a huge difference to the way I look and feel about myself.
Although this product has served me well I did decide today to finally buy the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish today. I couldn't help myself!! There was an offer online which made the temptation just to much, unfortunately for my bank account! I guess I will just have to wait and see as to whether it lives up to it's name or not!
So what do you think of this product? Have you tried it yet? Let me know!
Well If you've made it to the end of this post do let me know!
Thanks for reading! :)
Katy xoxo
